We opened the studio we
wanted to book.
Obsidian began in 2016 in a single Culver City bay because the two of us — an ex-race-team detailer and an obsessive Porsche owner — couldn't find anyone in the city we trusted to touch our own cars.
A decade later, the philosophy hasn't changed. One car per bay. One technician on it. Every measurement recorded and every finish documented.
We'll never recommend a service your paint doesn't need. If you've been over-quoted before, you'll feel the difference from the first phone call.
Three rules of the house.

Measured craft.
If we can't measure it, we won't guess at it. Every gauge, every reading, every photograph is recorded and handed to you.

Honest recommendation.
Some cars don't need a four-stage correction. If your paint is right, we'll say so — and only quote what your finish actually requires.

Zero conveyor belt.
One car per bay, one technician on it, no rotation. You'll always know the name of the person your keys were handed to.
